Northland Siblings Kit Lacy and Jason Lacy Have Purchased the Winery

We have some exciting news! We’re happy to announce brother and sister, Jason and Kit Lacy and their families, all of Kansas City, Mo, are the new owners of Jowler Creek Winery. The Lacy families took the reins August 15, 2019.

Jowler Creek winery was started by Jason & Colleen Gerke in 2006 in the basement of the home located in rural Platte County. Since that time, Jowler Creek has grown to include a vineyard, tasting room, event space and wine distribution across Kansas and Missouri.

The Lacy families plan to use their passion for wine, the outdoors and extensive business experience to take Jowler Creek to the next level, making Jowler Creek Winery a top destination for family and friends to spend time together and celebrate events, as well as grow the Jowler Creek wine brand in the Midwest region. Jowler Creek Winery will continue to produce award winning wines, offer family friendly public events, local live music, festivals, hayrides and private events in and for the community.

Meet the New Owners

A graduate of the University of Central Missouri and Rockhurst University, Kit Lacy most recently spent her last 5 years at a small public accounting firm in downtown Kansas City.

Jason Lacy graduated from Northwest Missouri State University and has spent a decade in the financial and investment industry.

Becoming third generation entrepreneurs was an obvious goal for both Jason and Kit. Their grandfather, Bob Lemons, was a hallmark in the Northland grocery business for over 50 years. Jason and Kit always admired his love for family, business and community.

The Gerke’s will remain on-site during a transition period and continue to work with the Lacy family in an advisory role going forward.

The Lacy’s are looking forward to meeting you at all the fun events taking place around the vineyard and winery this Fall!
